Heart for Philippines, a UK-registered charity based in Highworth, recently hosted From the Heart: A Special Afternoon Tea at Grove Hill Care Home — a joyful event made possible through a generous grant from BIG Highworth Community Foundation.
The afternoon was filled with warmth, laughter, and love as children from the community served tea and treats to the residents, chatting and sharing smiles across generations. The room buzzed with kindness and connection — a true celebration of community spirit.
One especially touching moment came when Dorothy, one of the residents, smiled and said:
“What a lovely thought, such a lovely surprise. Why did you have to do these to old people like us?”
Her heartfelt words captured the spirit of the day — reminding us why these simple gestures of love and companionship matter so much. They show our elders that they are cherished, valued, and never forgotten.
